About Copy Protecting Photos Online

I bought Watermark Factory's brilliant intuitive software last night and made my first protected JPEG this morning:

Watermarksample60

I used an image you have already seen, to make the comparison easy.

The settings here are simple, as I'm just starting out.  I used emboss and a little reduction in opacity.  There are many watermark programs on the market and I tried several before deciding to buy this one.  The deciding factors were power and ease of use.  I found that with some other programs that were not this easy, I had a tendency to skip the process altogether.

This one makes it so easy, it will be hard to shirk.

Another great photo resource I've found recently is PhotoCamel:

http://photocamel.com/forum/  Photocamel_2

A really friendly free membership forum that offers unlimited gallery space for photographs taken by members.  They don't seem to mind that I'm not only not a professional photographer, but mostly just take pictures of my own art.  Of course, if they keep being so nice, I might start taking more pictures.  Move over, Ansel Adams!

Update:  An acquaintance has commented more than once that he thinks my watermarks should be more subdued, and so I tried making a few less obvious.  The result was that one image I submitted for publication was rejected because the site though it was in their own words "Too good to be true."  Now that is a fine compliment, but from now on I'm not being understated about my copyright.  It is my work and it is going to have my name on it--like John Hancock if need be.
